‘Governments continue to fail’: Freedom Flotilla sails again, vowing to challenge Israel’s Gaza blockade

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, a global alliance of activists and human rights supporters, has launched a new campaign to challenge Israel's blockade of Gaza. Despite previous confrontations with Israeli forces resulting in violence, beatings, and alleged mistreatment, the coalition is determined to continue its mission. The coalition's latest effort involves ships sailing between European ports, with the planned arrival in Gaza scheduled for October.

Zohar Chamberlain Regev, a member of the coalition's steering committee, emphasized that governments have failed to fulfill their obligations in supporting the cause of Palestinian dignity. The flotilla has already made port visits to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, Germany, and France. The coalition demands the lifting of weapons and energy shipments to Israel, an end to diplomatic and military cooperation, and the imposition of sanctions while ensuring safe passage for humanitarian aid.

The mission acknowledges the risks involved but emphasizes the importance of solidarity and the refusal to accept the continued destruction of a people.
