Final victim found, four‑day search ends in Kota Tinggi drowning tragedy

JOHOR BAHRU, September 5 — The last missing person, Mohamad Haiman Fitri Supian, who went missing during a drowning incident at Pantai Tanjung Lompat, Kota Tinggi, was discovered today at 3:05 PM. Acting Tanjung Sedili Maritime Zone director, Maritime Commander Mohd Najib Sam, confirmed that the victim's body was located approximately 3.1 nautical miles from the incident site.

His identity was later verified by his relatives. The search and rescue operation, coordinated by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), concluded with this discovery after a four-day effort. Mohd Najib expressed his condolences to the families of all the victims and acknowledged the dedication of all agencies participating in the rescue mission.

He also thanked the maritime community, including fishermen, boat operators, and the public, for their assistance in providing information and monitoring the waters during the operation. On Wednesday, the fire department received an emergency call around 8:19 AM regarding six 16-year-old boys facing difficulties while swimming. Two of them were rescued by the public, while the remaining four were missing and subsequently found through the SAR operation.
