Delivery rider's compassion turns RM14.50 meal into wave of public generosity

A routine food delivery took an unexpected turn, inspiring a wave of public generosity. The story began when rider @abangpov98 delivered a RM14.50 order to an elderly customer who opted to pay in cash. During the brief exchange, the rider learned the woman intended to share the meal with her grandchild.

Demonstrating compassion, the rider decided to return the remaining RM9.50 to the woman, handing her a RM10 note and asking her to keep the coins as a charitable contribution, sedekah. He explained that he didn't want to accept the money as it might be her last cash available.

Before departing, the rider left behind a poignant message: "Today it’s your turn, tomorrow or the day after, it could be mine. We’ll never know."

The touching story quickly went viral on social media, eliciting an outpouring of public support. In a follow-up video, the rider visited the woman's home once again, this time bringing extra food and a red envelope filled with donations from Malaysians touched by his initial post. The woman, visibly moved by the kindness, thanked him and accepted a drink as a small token of appreciation.
