Beskrestnov: SBU building attacked by one of 2 jet-powered Shaheds flying from Donetsk region

Advisor to the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Beskrestnov, confirmed that the Security Service of Ukraine's headquarters was struck by a Russian Geran-4 jet-powered drone on Saturday. This claim contradicts online rumors suggesting the attack was staged using a smaller drone. The drone's flight path was tracked from the Donetsk region towards Kyiv, reaching an altitude of over 7 kilometers.

The destroyed drone has been identified as a Geran-4, with most of its components analyzed. Beskrestnov also noted that two of these jet UAVs were launched from the temporarily occupied territory, flying in a coordinated manner. One drone succeeded in reaching its target, while the other failed. In a separate discussion, Beskrestnov suggested that the drone was controlled via a MESH radio repeater connected to the internet, controlled by a Russian agent nearby during the attack.

Initially, the attack on the SBU building was reported to have occurred on Friday afternoon. President Zelenskyy stated that the drone targeted the SBU headquarters office in the building adjacent to St. Sophia Cathedral. This attack resulted in at least 15 injuries and caused damage to a significant architectural monument, the Consistory Building within the Kyiv Sophia National Sanctuary.

Zelenskyy announced preparations for retaliatory actions against Russian strikes, emphasizing that the response's location would be chosen to yield effective outcomes.
