Adun PAS tak semak fakta, DAP sudah lama persoal DNAA Zahid, kata Ramkarpal

DAP leader Ramkarpal Singh has accused the opposition party PAS of hypocrisy for calling for the Attorney General's (AG) report to review the decision not to release Umno President Zahid Hamidi without bail. This follows the AG's approval of Zahid's bail on September 4, 2023. PAS Adun from Kedah Ramkarpal made the remarks after his own party, Pakatan Harapan (PH), allegedly sought Umno's support to form a federal government after the 2022 general election.

Ramkarpal, who is also a member of the Parliament for Bukit Gelugor, stated that Mardhiyyah Johari's statement is inaccurate and shows a lack of understanding of DAP's position on Zahid's case. He emphasized that DAP has repeatedly raised concerns about the AG's decision, especially after the Supreme Court granted Zahid bail on prima facie grounds based on the evidence presented by the prosecution.

Loke Siew Fook, the Deputy Secretary-General of DAP, reiterated the party's commitment to upholding the separation of powers between the judicial, executive, and legislative branches, ensuring no interference from the executive in any court case, for the benefit of the public.
