Nikita Porwal's entry into the Miss World 2026 competition in Vietnam concluded without her winning the coveted title. Nevertheless, her journey on the global platform left a significant mark for India. Upon being eliminated from the Top 40, she remained among the Top 40, continuing India's tradition of securing a place in eight consecutive editions of the pageant.

The news of her elimination was shared on Instagram by Miss India Org, where they expressed gratitude for her representation of the country. Porwal's journey was marked by her strong performance on the international stage, her dedication to social causes, and her unique cultural contributions. Born in Ujjain, Porwal is not only a model, actor, and theatre artiste but also a playwright and Creative Director of theatre company Rangrays.

She has performed in over 60 theatrical productions and penned plays, showcasing her multifaceted talents. Porwal's initiative, Project MAATI — Empowering the Keepers of Our Roots, focused on supporting tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha through education, healthcare, nutrition, hygiene, clean drinking water, and livelihood opportunities.

Additionally, she emphasized the importance of education and vocational training for tribal youth. A key aspect of her Miss World journey was her deep cultural engagement. During the Dances of the World segment, she performed as Goddess Meenakshi of Madurai, drawing inspiration from Indian classical and cultural traditions. Her choice of attire, a custom Torani ensemble, received significant attention online, with many viewers supporting her in her quest to bring the crown back to India.

Porwal's fashion choices, such as a gown inspired by Princess Diana's iconic sapphire engagement ring, also received considerable attention and added a touch of royal nostalgia to her Miss World wardrobe. Entering the competition as one of six Indian Miss World winners, Porwal carried the legacy of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Manushi Chhillar, among others.

She described the responsibility of being identified as simply "India" as something that gave her butterflies. While she may not have won the crown this time, Porwal's Miss World journey was a testament to the fact that a pageant competition can be about much more than just the final title.
