5 Siri AI and iOS 27 features we’re looking forward to

Apple’s upcoming iOS 27 update, slated for September, promises a wealth of new features for iPhone users. The most anticipated addition is Siri AI, which has been in the works for years. Now powered by Apple Intelligence, Siri will come equipped with its own app and can interact with users through typing, speaking, or saying “Hey Siri.”

Siri AI will be able to draw contextual information from a user’s emails, calendars, documents, notes, and photos to provide answers beyond simple questions. A new standout feature is Visual Intelligence, allowing Siri AI to answer questions based on what the user’s camera sees, such as a movie on TV or a meal on the table. Additionally, Apple Photos will receive three new AI photo editing tools: Spatial Reframing, Extend, and Clean Up.

Image Playground will also evolve, generating more realistic images with enhanced customization options. Shortcuts, previously a feature for the technically inclined, will now be more user-friendly, allowing users to describe their desired automation, and Shortcuts will handle the setup. Lastly, iPhone Ultra users will enjoy multitasking capabilities, such as running multiple apps side-by-side on the larger inner screen of the foldable device.
