2027: Tinubu trying hard to rig election – US firm alleges

A United States-based political advisory firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has accused President Bola Tinubu of attempting to rig Nigeria's upcoming 2027 presidential election. In a statement posted on their X account, the firm claimed that Tinubu is employing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the judiciary to suppress and target opposition political parties and candidates.

They asserted that this is an undisputed fact. The US-based firm informed the US President Trump Administration and the Congress about this alleged plan. According to them, Tinubu and his associates are targeting political opponents by using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest them within 14 days. The firm also mentioned that an individual linked to Tinubu's All Progressives Congress (APC) had given the EFCC a 14-day ultimatum to arrest the opposition presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The US is keeping a close eye on the Nigerian election process. However, the firm has stated that they plan to inform the US Congress about this latest attempt by Tinubu to use the EFCC for electoral rigging. They emphasized the importance of a free and fair election for the US and stated that anyone disrupting this process should be held accountable.
