13 years on, PM Modi remembers ‘OG’ alumni of SRCC, reaches out to Gen Z crowd

Thirteen years after assuming the position of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid tribute to the alumni of Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on Teacher's Day. Accompanied by the newly appointed Union Education Minister, Prahlad Joshi, the PM made a speech at the 100-year-old college. Modi emphasized the impact of SRCC, stating that the name of the college has spread worldwide through its alumni.

He recalled former Union Minister Arun Jaitley, who often spoke about the college and recounted the same incident multiple times. Modi did not use the platform to criticize the government, recalling his own 2013 speech at SRCC, where he spoke about the glass half-full perspective, despite the challenges faced by the country at the time.

He invited the youth to verify the headlines of 2013 to understand the country's situation during that period. Comparing the present with the past, Modi highlighted the change in the condition of India, mentioning the reduction of the LoC terror attacks, the improvement of the GDP projection, and the calm in Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that India has become the fastest growing major economy and is making progress despite ongoing wars in the west.

Modi also praised the Jan Dhan scheme and criticized those who doubted its success, asserting that his government stands strong in the face of opposition. The Prime Minister expressed his vision for India, aiming to make it a developed country, manufacturing hub, and research and innovation center.
