11 ditahan kes lelaki parah ditetak di Ipoh

A series of incidents in Ipoh left one man dead and five men suspected of involvement in a planned attack on a victim. The Perak Police Chief, Alwi Zainal Abidin, stated that the 11 detained men had previous criminal records involving drug offenses and violent crimes. On Tuesday, around 10:30 AM, the victim, aged 26, was confronted by five men driving two cars before all the suspects pursued and attacked the victim.

The victim attempted to escape by jumping into the Kinta River but was killed by a machete-wielding suspect, sustaining injuries to his arms, legs, and back. The victim was subsequently aided by civilians and taken to the hospital for treatment. Investigations revealed that the incident was believed to be motivated by revenge and dissatisfaction from the criminal gang towards the victim.

Police view the incident as serious and have arrested 11 local men aged between 22 and 41 years, all with previous criminal records involving drug offenses and violent crimes, according to a statement released yesterday. All the suspects, ranging from 22 to 41 years old, were taken into custody for assistance in the investigation under Section 326 of the Protection from Violence Act due to causing serious injury with a weapon, in connection with the assault and their involvement in a planned criminal gang.
