Zamfara governor appoints new head of service

The Zamfara State Government has announced the appointment of Alhaji Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the State Civil Service. The selection has been officially approved by Governor Dauda Lawal and will take effect immediately, according to a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada. Senior Special Assistant to the Governor for Media, Suleman Ahmad Tudu, signed the statement on Wednesday.

Baraya replaces Alhaji Yakubu Haidara, who recently retired after a long tenure in the state civil service. The new Head of Service is described as a seasoned professional with a wealth of institutional experience and a thorough understanding of public administration. Haidara has held key positions as a Permanent Secretary in multiple ministries and previously served as the Permanent Secretary at the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission.

Governor Lawal praised Haidara's contributions to the development of the state civil service and wished him a successful post-retirement life. The governor simultaneously tasked Baraya with utilizing his expertise to bolster professionalism, discipline, productivity, and efficiency within the civil service in accordance with the administration's Rescue Agenda.
