Why I once evicted my son from home – Patience Ozokwor

Renowned Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, affectionately known as Mama G, has shared her perspective on the importance of allowing children to experience hardship and hard work. In a recent conversation with media personality Femi Baba, she stressed that shielding children from adversity is one of the worst things parents can do.

Ozokwor recounted a personal experience where she evicted her son from their home, urging him to earn a living independently. She cautioningly warned, "The fastest way to ruin a child's life is to say you don't want them to suffer the way you did." Once her children grew up, she expressed concern that they might engage in disputes over her property if she were no longer around.

Ozokwor emphasized that her disciplined upbringing had led her children to achieve success, and she cautioned parents against denying their offspring the valuable lessons of struggle and hard work out of a desire to protect them.
