Two held for raping 15-year-old girl in Assam’s Sivasagar, found pregnant: Police

A woman's body was discovered inside a home in Rawalpindi on Friday, prompting authorities to register a first information report (FIR) against her husband and his cousin. According to the police spokesperson, the woman's brother lodged the complaint, alleging that her husband had been torturing her for the past few days. The husband and his cousin were subsequently taken into custody for questioning.

The woman, who had been married for approximately two years and had a one-year-old son, frequently engaged in arguments with her husband, who would often communicate with other women on the phone and spend considerable time outside the house. The brother-in-law, employed in Dubai, returned to Pakistan four months ago.

In the FIR, the complainant alleged that his brother-in-law had subjected his sister to mental distress over the past three to four days. He claimed that he had spoken to his sister's mother, who informed him of the distress caused by his brother-in-law. Later that night, the brother-in-law's sister answered the phone, informing the caller that his sister had died by suicide.

Upon hearing this information, the brother-in-law's brother and sister visited the home, where they discovered the woman dead. The complainant further alleged that his sister had been murdered by her husband and his cousin, as well as other unidentified individuals. He pointed out that his sister had recently received fresh henna on her hands.

Police stated that they were conducting a thorough investigation into the case, with the body sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation would be carried out based on the findings of the post-mortem and forensic reports, with the case concluded accordingly.
