This New Robot Vacuum Wants to Remove Dust Mites and End Your Allergies
Improved mopping, stain removing spray and a physical privacy shutter build on Ecovac’s previous model.
Ecovacs has released a new robot vacuum called the Deebot X12S OmniCyclone, designed to combat dust mites and allergy-related issues. Michelle Jones, associate brand marketing director at Ecovacs Americas, explained that dust mite allergies cannot be completely eradicated and that most traditional robot vacuums only skim the surface of carpets.
To address this, the X12S was developed to penetrate deeper into the carpet pile where dust mites and allergens reside. In SGS Testing & Control Services Singapore testing, the X12S achieved an average removal rate of 97.44% of dust mite allergens and 95.45% of dust mites from carpet. Dust mites thrive in soft materials, particularly carpet, and can accumulate deep within the pile, making conventional robot vacuums ineffective.
The X12S boasts enhanced features over its predecessor, the X12, such as 53 air watts of effective suction, a 60% improvement over the previous model. It also includes OZMO Roller 3.0, which features self-washing capabilities, and the FocusJet stain spray, which helps loosen and break down dried-on stains. The vacuum maintains its previous generation's features, including the 15-millimeter auto-mop lifting, Mop Roller Smart Cover, AIVI 3D 4.0 dual obstacle avoidance, and 3D edge sensor for efficient cleaning near walls and baseboards.
One notable addition is the physical privacy shutter, which covers the AIVI camera when closed, providing users with an added layer of privacy assurance. The X12S is currently priced at $1,300 in the United States, with an Amazon launch deal offering it for $1,000 between September 4 and September 11.
