“There was no contact”, claims Dušan Vlahović, contradicting Juventus story over contract expiry

Dušan Vlahović has denied Juventus' claims that they had discussions about a new contract, contradicting the club's CEO Damien Comolli's statements. Vlahović, who had his old contract expire at the end of last summer, stated that there were no concrete conversations with the club about renewing his deal. The Serbian forward claimed that only comments about discussing the contract or possibly signing a new one were made.

He also revealed that his injury likely impacted his situation, as it prevented him from contributing effectively to the team. Vlahović has since moved to Turkish side Beşiktaş on a three-year deal worth €9.38 million per year. Juventus had been attempting to reduce their wage bill and were offering Vlahović a contract worth around €6 million per year, while he was seeking a deal close to €8 million per year.
