Temporary restraining order clears way for DE Stephen Daley and LB Kellen Wyatt to play for Indiana in Week 1

A Monroe Circuit Court judge has granted a temporary restraining order, allowing Indiana players Stephen Daley and Kellen Wyatt to participate in the 2026 season opener against North Texas. The decision means Daley and Wyatt can take the field on Saturday after missing the College Football Playoff games due to injury. This TRO covers six other players from Indiana's class of 2022, who were not included in the NCAA's June rule change granting players five years to play five seasons.

Neither Daley nor Wyatt were on NFL rosters during training camps and have no plans to change schools. Daley, Indiana's top defensive lineman before his injury, led the team with 19 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks in 13 games. Wyatt, a linebacker who played in seven games, had 27 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. The case also involves former Indiana and Miami basketball player Malik Reneau, who was Miami's leading scorer during the team's successful 2025-26 season.
