The RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro is a rugged smartphone that comes with a detachable action camera, a unique approach compared to other devices. This camera module, resembling the Insta360 Go series, can function independently as a compact cube-shaped device. The Xsnap 7 Pro will be unveiled at IFA Berlin, following the launch of the Xever 7 series last year.
The detachable camera module weighs just 39g and can be mounted on the phone, a magnetic pendant, or compatible accessories. It records video at 2.7K resolution and 30fps, with a 133-degree ultra-wide lens. The camera also features distortion correction, software stabilisation, and horizon lock, while its FreeFrame mode captures the full sensor area for cropping into different formats later.
With 64GB of built-in storage, the camera can record up to 40 minutes on a full charge and wirelessly stream a preview to the phone through RugOne’s companion app from up to 50 metres away.
Despite being a rugged phone, the Xsnap 7 Pro still boasts a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,700 nits. It features a 32MP front-facing camera and a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 64MP infrared night-vision camera with dedicated IR LEDs. Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 chipset, the phone comes with 12GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage, and a 9,300mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.
The device is protected by IP68 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, allowing it to survive immersion in up to 2 metres of water for 30 minutes and drops from up to 1.5 metres onto concrete.
The RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro will be launched at IFA Berlin on 5 September and later available for pre-order on Kickstarter on 7 September 2026 at an early-bird price of EUR799 (~RM3,760). It will be available globally in October for US$999 (~RM4,036) through RugOne’s online store and Amazon. However, there is no confirmation of its availability in Malaysia.
