Residents’ Tip-Off Leads Police to fourteen arrests and break-up of Torrevieja Drug Network

A coordinated police operation in Torrevieja has led to the arrest of fourteen individuals suspected of running a drug-dealing network. The Guardia Civil uncovered the alleged criminal organisation after residents alerted authorities to a constant stream of suspected customers entering and leaving a residential building throughout the day. Neighbours also complained of foul odours, loud noise, and disturbances in shared spaces, as well as a series of thefts, property damage, and confrontations involving drug users.

The investigation revealed that the group was involved in the continuous sale of narcotics, with specific roles assigned to its members. Four properties were linked to the operation, including two that served as storage and distribution hubs for drugs, and two others acting as street-level sales points. During a final round of searches, officers from the Guardia Civil's Torrevieja unit, supported by Citizen Security Units from Alicante and Torrevieja, the Valencia Reserve and Security Group, and drug-sniffing canines, conducted simultaneous raids at all four addresses.

The arrests resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of drugs and assets. Police recovered 160 grams of cocaine, 50.5 grams of cocaine base, and 183 grams of marijuana. They also seized €975 in small-denomination banknotes, two compressed-air handguns, two vehicles, and a personal mobility vehicle. Additionally, equipment believed to be used for processing and preparing drugs for distribution was found at one of the properties.

All fourteen suspects appeared before a court in Torrevieja, where they were subsequently released on precautionary measures while the investigation continues. The Guardia Civil emphasized the critical role of public cooperation, stating that information provided by residents was instrumental in identifying the suspected drug-dealing operation.
