Punjab Launches Grand Operation Against Environmental Violations

Punjab has announced an extensive operation to crack down on environmental violations throughout the region. This decision was made during a meeting presided over by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb. Officials reported that the government is diligently enforcing Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s "Clean Lahore, Healthy Punjab" initiative.

The briefing revealed that consequences have already been imposed on several offenders. Punitive measures include issuing notices to 18 entities and sealing four establishments for environmental infractions. Six sites were additionally sealed due to construction-related infringements, while 36 locations were targeted for penalizing polythene usage.

Furthermore, 10 polluting vehicles were impounded, and 24 fines were levied, leading to the seizure of another 24 vehicles. The meeting further resolved to broaden this operation across the entire province, considering the upcoming crop-harvesting season, and to enhance the vigilance against environmental violations.
