Police deny neglect of officers deployed for Osun election

The Nigeria Police Force has denied allegations that hundreds of officers deployed to Osun State for the upcoming governorship election in August 2026 have been neglected and left without adequate provisions. The Force clarified that the continued presence of the personnel is part of normal post-election security procedures, aimed at ensuring security, preventing post-election violence, and ensuring a smooth transition to normal policing.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, stated that the officers have received their approved entitlements and their welfare remains a priority. The Force dismissed claims of neglect and emphasized their commitment to personnel welfare, urging media to verify reports before publishing.
