Kindiki: We are ready to face Kenyans and explain what we have done

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has declared that he and President William Ruto are prepared to confront Kenyan voters and outline the government's achievements since assuming office. Speaking at a UDA polling centre event in Meru County on September 1, 2026, Kindiki emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza administration is not intimidated by direct voter engagement and is ready to defend its record.

"We are ready to face the people of Kenya, eye to eye, face to face," Kindiki stated. He pledged that the President and himself would directly explain the government's actions over the past five years, emphasizing that they are prepared to answer questions about their administration. Kindiki also highlighted that the administration is willing to engage citizens directly, contrasting this proactive stance with what he described as the opposition's reluctance to address scrutiny about their policies.

He warned opposition politicians of lacking a clear agenda or policy platform, accusing them of contributing to confusion rather than providing voters with a clear choice. He urged voters to scrutinize the candidates and their proposed solutions, stating that during elections, people should ask themselves, "Who am I electing?

Kindiki noted progress in agriculture, citing reduced prices for fertilizers and seeds, as an example of the government's accomplishments. As political activity increases in preparation for the 2027 General Election, Kindiki's comments reflect the government's stance on transparency and direct engagement with the electorate, while opposition parties prepare to challenge the administration and present alternative policy platforms.
