PAS dakwa keputusan tambah cabutan khas tak dibawa ke Kabinet

PAS religious leader Takiyuddin Hassan expressed dissatisfaction after discovering that their request to increase the number of special absentee ballots from 22 per year to a higher figure was not addressed by the Cabinet. This dissatisfaction occurred following his awareness of the matter, yet the decision had been made earlier.

The news was shared during PAS's 72nd Muktamar gathering. During his tenure, Tengku Zafrul Aziz served as the Finance Minister. Information about the increase in special absentee ballots was not brought to the Cabinet, leaving the PAS leader without any details. The issue pertains to gambling regulations and the number of absences under the federal government's jurisdiction, particularly the Finance Ministry, while state governments have authority over gambling premises.

Takiyuddin joined the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Legislation) under Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's administration and also served as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources during the Ismail Sabri Yaakob administration. The news reported today stated that Tengku Zafrul claimed the decision to increase the number of special absentee ballots to 22 per year was a joint decision from the previous government involving the then PAS Minister.

He noted that special absentee ballots were not a new concept as it was introduced since 1999, and already 22 absences per year existed during the Barisan Nasional administration before he was appointed as Finance Minister.
