Nigel Farage says Reform UK has 'broken no laws' as aides quit amid allegations

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage denied that his party had broken any laws or accepted "dodgy money" amid allegations the party breached political donation rules. Two party officials, James Orr, the head of policy, and Dan Jukes, a long-serving aide, stepped down as part of an internal investigation. Reform UK reported the allegations to the police following claims by Channel 4 News that the party took funding from a US firm for three polls costing £32,500.

The purported donors in the footage were undercover reporters posing as an American financier and his UK-based son. Foreign companies are not allowed to fund political parties, and accepting donations from them could be a criminal offense. The Electoral Commission is reviewing the matter and in contact with the Met Police. Reform UK launched an internal investigation, with party officials insisting the party has a "robust vetting process for prospective donors approved by the Electoral Commission."

Party chairman Lee Anderson stated there was "no chance" of Orr and Jukes returning to the party, while Deputy Leader Richard Tice did not rule out the possibility.
