NCDC to Unveil 20-Year Regional Blueprint at Maiden Summit

The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) is preparing to host its inaugural North Central Stakeholders’ Development Summit from September 14th to 15th, 2026, with the aim of charting a 20-year development blueprint for the region. Announced by the Head of Media and Corporate Communications Dr. Makut Simon Macham, the two-day event at the Abuja Continental Hotel will be themed "The Great Leap Forward: A 20-Year Economic, Infrastructural and Social Development Plan for the North Central Region."

The summit aims to bring together a diverse array of stakeholders, including political leaders, government institutions, traditional rulers, technocrats, private sector players, youth and women groups, persons with disabilities, development partners, and others, to deliberate on an inclusive development plan. Key figures such as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, and former Heads of State like General Yakubu Gowon are expected to attend.

The summit, led by Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Ndatsu Umaru, will provide a strategic platform for stakeholders to discuss development challenges and opportunities in the region. Expected outcomes include the formulation of a shared vision and actionable framework for the region's holistic transformation. The Managing Director/CEO of NCDC, Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, emphasized the need for collaboration among governments, the private sector, development partners, and communities to achieve the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda under President Tinubu.
