NAFCO warns public against fraudsters posing as agents for school food contracts

The National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited (NAFCO) has cautioned the public against scammers who are impersonating company agents and falsely claiming to have control over the distribution of food supply contracts to secondary schools. According to NAFCO’s statement, unscrupulous individuals have been approaching unsuspecting members of the public and asking for money in exchange for supposed assistance in securing these contracts.

This warning was issued in a statement released by NAFCO’s Corporate Affairs Department on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

NAFCO is actively involved in managing and distributing food supplies to public institutions, including secondary schools. The company made it clear that no third party is involved in the award or distribution of these contracts. Instead, NAFCO encourages interested businesses and individuals to register directly at their offices across the country and undergo a thorough merit-based selection process.

The statement emphasized that NAFCO operates with an open-door policy, ensuring that the selection process is free from any influence from external parties.

The company reiterated its stance that prospective suppliers should engage directly with NAFCO and not pay intermediaries who falsely claim to have influence over the procurement or contract-allocation processes. NAFCO urged the public to disregard anyone who makes such claims and promises special access or influence over the award and selection of food supply contracts in exchange for money. Anyone who comes across individuals making these fraudulent claims is advised to report them to the nearest police station.
