MP CM Mohan Yadav Meets Hanuman Ansh Bundeli Singer Sunil Lodhi, Announces ₹1 Lakh Honorarium, Musical Education & Blindness Treatment | VIDEO

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid a visit to 25-year-old Bundeli singer Sunil Lodhi on Thursday evening. The Chief Minister commended Sunil's remarkable musical journey, describing it as truly inspiring. Sunil, who has been blind since birth, recently gained national attention after performing the popular Bundeli devotional song 'Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman, Sagar Mein Naiya Paar Dai' for the film Hanuman Ansh.

The MP CM announced a monetary reward of ₹1 lakh for Sunil. Additionally, he pledged government support for formal music education and efforts to restore the singer's sight. Born in Sagar's Agra village, Sunil hails from a modest family. His father owns a small plot of land and works as both a farmer and a laborer. The family also generates income through cattle rearing and selling milk.

Sunil's visual impairment is due to a congenital condition affecting the nerves in his eyes. Despite his condition, he received partial formal education. His school teacher, who also taught him basic numeracy and literacy, later became his first music mentor. Sunil's love for music blossomed during his childhood through participation in village devotional gatherings. He learned bhajans from village elders and began playing the tambura. Due to financial hardship, he even sang devotional songs on trains to earn a living.

Sunil's talent was discovered by social media influencer Rohit Sahu, who runs the page 'Bundeli Duniya'. Sahu began recording Sunil's bhajans and sharing them online. He gained wider recognition in 2020 after the viral success of his Hanuman bhajan 'More Sankat Ke Kataiya' on social media. Director of Hanuman Ansh, Vishal Chaturvedi, saw Sunil's online video and invited him to a studio, where the singer recorded a new Bundeli bhajan for the film.

Sunil now aspires to establish a successful music career and fulfill his dream of performing alongside Bollywood playback singer Jubin Nautiyal.
