Meyer Shank Racing announces its second driver for 2027: Mick Schumacher

Meyer Shank Racing has announced that Mick Schumacher will be their second driver for the 2027 IndyCar season. Schumacher, son of seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher, will join the team after Indianapolis 500 champion Felix Rosenqvist left to join Arrow McLaren. Rosenqvist's departure prompted Meyer Shank Racing to replace him with Schumacher.

Schumacher departed from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing after the team agreed to sell a charter to Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. At RLL, Schumacher was replaced by Graham Rahal and Louis Foster, who already had contracts with the team. Schumacher expressed his excitement about joining Meyer Shank Racing, stating that he is eager to work with the ambitious team and learn from their success.

He will drive the team's No. 66 Honda, while Marcus Armstrong will return for his second season with the team in the No. 60 Honda. Schumacher, who will make his IndyCar debut this weekend at Laguna Seca, is currently 23rd in the championship and 18 points behind Dennis Hauger for the Rookie of the Year title. Meyer Shank Racing co-owner Mike Shank expressed excitement about Schumacher's addition, citing his impressive performance in his first season of IndyCar and his strong potential.

The partnership between Meyer Shank Racing and ENVE Motorsports, which will provide the team's aerodynamic components, was also announced, with both parties aiming for victory in their respective disciplines.
