Kritische Infrastruktur: Dax-Konzernchef: Deutschland wird besonders stark attackiert

Siemens-Energy CEO Christian Bruch has stated that Germany's critical infrastructure is more frequently targeted than other European countries. He believes the threat level has significantly increased over the past 12 to 18 months. Bruch emphasized that Germany, as a transit country in a conflict scenario, plays a key role and is particularly vulnerable.

The recent attacks on the power grid in Brandenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia are suspected to be the result of constitutionally motivated sabotage. Bruch stressed the urgent need to develop the civilian operations plan to protect essential infrastructure like power, water, and food supplies in case of a crisis. He highlighted the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyber attacks on infrastructure.

Bruch acknowledged that critical infrastructure is hard to protect and easily disrupted, suggesting the need to strengthen "reparability" by having rapid response teams. He also emphasized the importance of resilience in managing and protecting infrastructure, suggesting that Germany does not need to label every critical infrastructure, acknowledging that this approach may not be ideal.
