Kerjasama Umno, PAS bukan untuk hidup semula MN, kata Asyraf

Kelantan's Umno Deputy Chairman Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki addressed the PAS 72nd National Meeting at the Islamic Moral Education Centre in Pengkalan Chepa today, representing President Zahid Hamidi. He clarified that cooperation between Umno and PAS is not aimed at reviving the National Unity Front (MN), but rather to find common ground between the two largest Malay parties for political stability in the nation.

Asyraf emphasized the importance of supporting any agenda that can fulfill Malay people's hopes for a stable, harmonious, and contented country, after the President's Speech and Opening Remarks at the PAS National Meeting. He discussed the form of cooperation under consideration between Umno and PAS, noting that MN, established in September 2019 through the collaboration of PAS and Umno to unite Malay Islamic voters, is still too early to discuss.

Asyraf stressed that supporting an agenda capable of uniting Islam and Malay people does not mean ignoring the rights and interests of other nations and religions. However, as always stressed, national unity does not mean ignoring other nations or religions. The nation's state, its grandparent, is Malay and Islamic.
