KBC 18: CRPF officer who narrowly escaped death in encounter answers Rs 1 cr question

Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 witnessed CRPF Deputy Commandant Manoj Kumar Yadav take on the hot seat on Wednesday and Thursday's episode. On Thursday, Yadav successfully answered the Rs 1 crore question, which was about an explorer and US presidential candidate who named the strait that inspired the name of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The options were James Blaine, John Fremont, Winfield Scott, and Leland Stanford. Yadav chose Winfield Scott as his answer, but the correct answer was John Fremont. He chose to quit the show, taking home Rs 50 lakh. Yadav shared anecdotes from his life, including a narrow escape from death during his time in Jharkhand. He revealed that he was a native of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, but served in various battalions, including the 79th Battalion in Srinagar, CoBRA in Jharkhand, 100th RAF in Ahmedabad, and 157th Battalion in Jharkhand.

During his encounter with an enemy group in a forest in Jharkhand, Yadav sustained a splinter injury in his right eye, which could have led to the loss of his eye. Despite the injury, he remained committed to serving India.
