International Airline Launches Flights to Another Pakistani City

Uzbekistan's Centrum Air has initiated regular direct flights between Tashkent and Karachi, enhancing air connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. This development is set to bolster tourism, trade, business, and interpersonal relationships. The inaugural flight from Tashkent touched down at Karachi Airport on September 3 at 4:20 a.m., with Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, onboard.

The aircraft was greeted with a traditional water-cannon salute upon arrival. A welcoming ceremony was held, uniting Sindh government representatives, local authorities, diplomatic corps, Sindh Tourism Development Corporation, airlines, tour operators, and the media. The Sindh government highlighted that this new service could boost tourism, foster business-to-business ties, and promote greater interaction between the countries' business communities.

It also noted the convenience this route offers to businessmen, investors, tourists, students, and families, while providing Pakistani travelers with better access to Uzbekistan and Central Asia. As a result of this launch, direct flights between Pakistan and Uzbekistan have risen to eight per week, further strengthening ties and supporting tourism, trade, and economic cooperation. Earlier this year, Centrum Air had introduced direct flights from Lahore to Tashkent twice a week.
