Blue Rodeo's song "Hasn't Hit Me Yet" has gained new meaning after U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. The Toronto-based band performed the track at their annual hometown show at RBC Amphitheatre on Lake Ontario's waterfront, asking the audience of 16,000 to sing the lyric with "full authority and ownership."

While the song has always celebrated the Great Lake, the performance took on heightened significance given the controversy surrounding the name change. Blue Rodeo frontman Greg Keelor stated that the song would serve as their "rallying call" against the outlandish decision. The band's performance sparked an emotional response from the audience, with many expressing gratitude for their bold stance.

Keelor described the reaction as "unexpected" and "very happy," noting that the song now carries a different meaning. While the name Lake Ontario remains on Canadian maps, it was reportedly changed to Lake America on Google Maps in the U.S. Keelor called it "another aspect of his idiocy" and "so un-Canadian," but emphasized that the band will continue to stand up for what they believe in.
