I’ll soon leave music – Davido taunts Erigga

Afrobeats artist Davido has announced his imminent departure from the music industry as he focuses on amassing wealth. He made this statement in response to a post made by Nigerian rapper Erigga on social media platform X. Erigga had expressed admiration for musicians who, despite lacking family financial support, had worked tirelessly to earn every dollar they received.

Davido disagreed with Erigga's sentiment, stating that musicians from affluent backgrounds can also dedicate themselves to hard work and achieve success. He dismissed Erigga's message as "useless motivation" and labeled him an "imbecile." Davido further revealed his intention to exit the music scene soon in pursuit of his financial objectives, saying, "No worry o I go soon leave their music for una go make my billions… then that shit gonna be boring AF."

He concluded the exchange by questioning the genuine desire of people to live in poverty, asking, "Deep down, who like poverty?"
