I recently had the opportunity to test two of the best Android foldables, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Motorola Razr Fold. Here's how to avoid buying the wrong one:

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a fantastic experience, with a wider cover screen and landscape-dominant inner display, perfect for content and multitasking. It features a larger 5.5-inch cover display, providing ample space for typing and improved visuals in tent mode. When unfolded, the device offers a 7.6-inch canvas for multitasking, ensuring each app has enough room without feeling crowded.

The phone's performance is impressive, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and 12GB of RAM. Multitasking is smooth, and the software, One UI 9, excels in managing app pairs efficiently. Battery life, powered by an 4,800mAh cell, is surprisingly solid, despite the 45W wired charging limitation. The phone's cameras, though not flagship-level, deliver decent images and justify the purchase for those willing to sacrifice some image quality.

On the other hand, the Motorola Razr Fold offers a traditional book-style form factor at a more affordable price. With a 6.6-inch cover screen and an 8.1-inch internal display when unfolded, it provides a comfortable typing experience and a spacious canvas for multitasking. The phone supports a stylus, which is a significant advantage.

While the Razr Fold's 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage come at a reasonable cost, it is heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and features a less refined design. Although the software, Hello UI, may not match Samsung's One UI 9, Motorola's software is still solid. Ultimately, if you prioritize a traditional foldable form factor and value the added stylus support, the Razr Fold is an excellent choice.
