HC allows 2 'linked' to NEET leak to go for counselling

Delhi High Court has allowed two candidates linked to a NEET-UG question paper leak to take counselling. Justice Jasmeet Singh directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to disclose the re-examination results of the candidates within 24 hours. Although the CBI accused the candidates in its chargesheet, they were not named as accused and only faced allegations.

The court ruled that the petitioners, who paid money for the question paper, could not be treated as guilty of any crime at this stage. The High Court emphasized that withholding their results based on allegations could cause serious harm to their academic careers. The candidates were permitted to know their results and participate in the subsequent rounds of counseling conducted by NTA, pending the outcome of the proceedings.
