Hadi tepis dakwaan campur tangan keputusan PN

The President of PAS, Hadi Awang, has dismissed allegations that he interfered in the decisions made by Perikatan Nasional (PN). Addressing reporters, Hadi reminded that PN's leadership made decisions through consensus, despite his frequent public statements of opinion. During a media briefing at the 72nd PAS Muktamar in Kelantan, Hadi stated that PAS also allows members to voice their opinions, unlike some parties where everyone simply agrees.

The extent of Hadi's involvement in PN's direction has been a topic of debate, especially since the open clash between PAS and Bersatu. Earlier this month, Hadi announced that PAS agreed to retain former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin as the leading dissenter, which drew criticism from Bersatu. Apart from this, Hadi announced ongoing consultations with Barisan Nasional to prepare for the upcoming PRN Melaka.

He said the consultation had begun, but not yet concluded. When asked if PAS had a nominee for Prime Minister to promote the unity agenda, Hadi said such a matter would be discussed when the time comes. No one has been decided yet, he added. He also confirmed that PAS would send a representative to the Umno Supreme Council meeting the following week. The representative's selection would be determined later, he said.
