Eben Etzebeth roars back into form to help South Africa level All Blacks rugby series

Critics once believed Eben Etzebeth should retire, but the most capped Springbok ever has proven them wrong. After playing only once all year, Etzebeth was sidelined by an eye-gouge suspension, a hip injury, and a head knock. South Africa's greatest rival, New Zealand, arrived for an anticipated historic tour, and Etzebeth had only played once all year when he faced them on August 8.

His performance was lackluster in the first test, but he quickly recovered for the third test against New Zealand at Ellis Park. Despite a slow start, Etzebeth showcased his prowess by harassing the All Blacks lineout, spoiling three attacking throw-ins, and making five catches. His work rate was exceptional, and South Africa won the match 33-26.

Etzebeth's teammate, Victor Matfield, praised his performance, noting his work rate and take-no-prisoners attitude.
