Coaching Ronaldo attracted me to Al Nassr — Postecoglou

Al Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou has shared that the prospect of coaching football legend Cristiano Ronaldo was a significant motivator for joining the Saudi Arabian club. Postecoglou, who took charge in July on a two-year contract, was appointed following the departure of Jorge Jesus, who is now Portugal's head coach. The team boasts an impressive roster, including Sadio Mané, Kingsley Coman, Joao Felix, and Ronaldo himself.

In an interview on the LiSTNR podcast The Howie Games, Postecoglou emphasized the appeal of working with Ronaldo and making a small contribution to the story of one of football’s greatest players. He acknowledged his previous association with legendary Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskas during his playing days, describing it as an unforgettable part of his career.

Postecoglou also highlighted his work with Australia's Tim Cahill and South Korea's Son Heung-min, emphasizing that each of these experiences allowed him to be a small part of the players' journeys. This perspective was a key factor in his decision to join Al Nassr, as it allowed him to fulfill his lifelong ambition of being closely involved with elite footballers while pursuing Al Nassr's objectives.
