Chamber of Aquaculture Ghana facilitates partnership talks to boost aquaculture through technology

The Chamber of Aquaculture Ghana organized a meeting to connect with Aquamet Technologies and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, aiming to explore potential partnerships and collaborations that will boost Ghana’s aquaculture sector through technology and innovation. The event was organized by Jacob Adzikah, the Chamber's CEO, and included prominent figures like Emelia Arthur, the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, and other high-level officials from relevant ministries.

Aquamet Technologies, led by its CEO Frank Owusu and Co-Founder Gabriel Lorlornyo, showcased its digital solutions and capabilities in water-quality monitoring, data collection, and digital technologies. The company presented its solutions to officials from the Ministry, highlighting how technology could support the growth of aquaculture in Ghana.

The discussions centered around how technology and data can be utilized to enhance decision-making, improve monitoring of interventions, and strengthen aquaculture development. Emilia Arthur, the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, expressed her support for collaborating with young innovators and welcomed the opportunity to explore technology that can effectively monitor critical water-quality parameters and provide guidance to farmers.

This partnership marks a step towards promoting innovation and strengthening collaboration among government, industry players, and technology developers in Ghana's aquaculture sector. Stakeholders believe that leveraging digital technology, improved data systems, and innovative solutions can unlock knowledge, markets, and financing opportunities while supporting the sustainable growth of aquaculture in Ghana.
