Cadangan PRU16 lebih awal boleh diteliti, kata Anwar

(Picture Bernama) AMPANG: Anwar Ibrahim stated that the proposal for holding PRU16 earlier can be investigated, but the government's primary concern at the moment is ensuring the economy continues to grow and improving the well-being of the people.

He also emphasized that his administration wants to continue the agenda of eradicating corruption and misuse of power. He said that his proposal can be investigated but the final decision lies with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, he said after completing his Friday prayers at Masjid Bukit Indah. Now the focus is on the economy, the well-being of the people and cleansing the country from the practice of misusing power and corruption.

The government remains stable, we rely on this. Earlier, Umno President Zahid Hamidi was reported to have said that it would be better for PRU16 to be held earlier to gain a fresh mandate from the people, but Barisan Nasional (BN) remains ready to continue the 15th Parliament until its term ends. The 15th Parliament session is scheduled to end around December 2027, with elections to be held within 60 days following the dissolution of Parliament.
