Cadangan PRU16 lebih awal boleh diteliti, kata Anwar

Anwar stated that the proposal for early general elections may be subject to review, but the government's primary focus is currently ensuring sustained economic growth and improving the well-being of the people. He also emphasized his administration's commitment to ending racial discrimination and misuse of power. Anwar said that this proposal can be reviewed, but the decision lies with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, whom he will consult and subsequently present to.

The focus now is on the economy, people's welfare, and cleaning the country of corruption and favoritism. The government remains stable, and they are relying on this for now. Before this, Umno President Zahid Hamidi was reportedly quoted saying that an earlier PRU16 would be better for gaining a mandate from the people, but the Barisan Nasional (BN) remains ready if the 15th Parliament term is extended until its completion.

The 15th Parliament session is scheduled to end around December 2027, with a general election needed to be held within 60 days after the dissolution of Parliament.
