‘Build the wall. Deport’: White House launches MAGA arcade games featuring migrant deportations

President Donald Trump's White House launched a new website on September 4 featuring classic arcade games with a "MAGA" twist. These games allow players to deport migrants and construct a border wall. Rights groups have expressed their disapproval of the release of these online games, as the Trump administration is intensifying its mass arrest and deportation program for undocumented migrants.

One game, Rio Run, is an updated version of the game Snake, where a digital version of US border czar Tom Homan chases migrants with different skin colors next to the Rio Grande river on the Mexican border. Another game, Build the Wall, is based on the block-stacking game Tetris and instructs players to "Protect the border from the coming horde."

A third game involves collecting nets to deposit into so-called "Trump accounts" - investment accounts containing a US$1,000 deposit for children born in 2025 through 2028. The White House explained the initiative as an effort to contrast the administration's culture of fun and winning with Democrats' alleged dark socialist vision for America.

Critics argue that the gaming website dehumanizes and ridicules migrants, even as people die in detention centers.
