Asyraf ganti Zahid hadir Muktamar PAS

Setiausaha Agung PAS Takiyuddin Hassan revealed that his party was informed Zahid Hamidi, the President of Umno, would not attend the 72nd PAS Muktamar in Bali today due to unavoidable circumstances. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, the Asyraf of Umno, represented his party and attended the event. The gathering also included Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub from the Umno Kelantan Chief and Alwi Che Ahmad from the Umno Top Worker Council.

Other PN (Perikatan Nasional) members present included Hamzah Zainudin, the Leader of Opposition, Mukhriz Mahathir, the President of Pejuang, Dominic Lau, the President of Gerakan, and Sathes Kumar, the Asyraf of MIPP. Takiyuddin Hassan, the Asyraf of PAS, stated that Zahid could not attend the event due to unavoidable circumstances.

The presence of Umno's representative today marks a new historical era in the political landscape of the nation, aimed at fulfilling the grand idea of ummah unity. Thanking Umno's leadership and delegation, he said at the opening of the Muktamar. Earlier, Takiyuddin had reportedly said that the party had invited the Umno leader to the Muktamar, considering Umno as a strategic cooperation partner.

Yesterday, the PUM (Pemuda Umno) delegation led by Dr Akmal Saleh attended the PAS Youth Muktamar, while the Chairman of the Umno Islamic Scholars Council, Dusuki Ahmad, attended the PAS Scholars Muktamar. The presence of Umno leaders at the PAS Muktamar has drawn attention again, considering the two parties' history of political cooperation through the National Accord.

The last time an Umno leader was invited to attend the PAS Muktamar in Pahang was in 2019, led by Deputy President Mohamad Hasan.
