Negara's Chief Counsel Dusuki Mokhtar plans to file an appeal within 14 days regarding the Malaysian High Court's decision to allow Rosmah Mansor to present additional evidence in her corruption case. On Tuesday, the High Court approved Rosmah's request to submit fresh evidence in her appeal against the RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project scandal.

The court instructed Rosmah to present the additional evidence before the High Court judge within two weeks of the case management, set for September 10. Rosmah sought permission to rely on police reports, sworn statements from a prosecution witness alleged to have been pressured during the trial, and supporting documents. Dusuki stated that the prosecution will seek a ruling from the Federal Court to overturn the September 1 decision.

They will file the appeal appeal as soon as possible, noting that they must submit the appeal notice within 14 days of the High Court's decision, according to Dusuki. On September 2, 2022, High Court Judge Zaini Mazlan sentenced Rosmah to RM187.5 million in damages from former Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd director Saidi Abang Samsudin through Rizal Mansor to help secure the solar hybrid project.

Rizal, who was Rosmah's former aide, was also found guilty of receiving RM5 million from Saidi via Rizal on December 20, 2016, and an additional RM1.5 million from him at his Jalan Langgak Duta residence on September 7, 2017. Zaini ordered Rosmah to serve an additional 10 years in prison if she fails to pay the fine.
