Peguam Negara Dusuki Mokhtar plans to file an appeal within 14 days after the Malaysian High Court's decision to allow Rosmah Mansor to present fresh evidence in a corruption case involving a RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project. On Tuesday, the High Court approved Rosmah's request to present additional evidence in the appeal against the ruling that sentenced her to 10 years in prison and a fine of RM970 million.

The court gave her two weeks to submit the new evidence after the case proceedings, set for September 10. Rosmah is seeking permission to rely on police reports, a statement from a prosecution witness under heavy pressure during the trial, and supporting documents. The prosecution intends to appeal to the Federal Court to overturn the September 1 decision.

Mokhtar stated that the prosecution will file the appeal as soon as possible, adhering to the 14-day deadline following the High Court's ruling. On September 2, 2022, High Court Judge Zaini Mazlan convicted Rosmah for demanding RM187.5 million from former Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd executive Saidi Abang Samsudin through Rizal Mansor, a former aide of Rosmah, to help the company secure a solar hybrid project.

Rizal, who was Rosmah's assistant, was also found guilty of receiving RM5 million from Saidi via Rizal on December 20, 2016, and another RM1.5 million from his house on September 7, 2017. Zaini sentenced Rosmah to 10 years in prison for each of the three charges, which will run concurrently, and imposed a fine of RM970 million. If she fails to pay the fine, she will serve an additional 10 years in prison.
