99% kru kabin Malaysia Airlines negatif dadah

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the parent company of Malaysia Airlines, has announced that 98.8% of its cabin crew have tested negative for drugs following a recent screening of 2,840 cabin crew members. This comes after one Malaysia Airlines employee was detained in Indonesia at the end of July, after carrying 25kg of ecstasy and 2.7g of cocaine.

The remaining 1.2% of cabin crew will undergo the same screening process today. This is an ongoing process, including for pilots, according to MAG's President and CEO Nasaruddin A Bakar. MAG announced the screening after one Malaysia Airlines employee was detained in Indonesia on July 29, carrying 25kg of ecstasy and 2.7g of cocaine.

All Malaysia Airlines flights were reported to remain staffed with crew who tested negative for drugs following the mandatory screening. The detained employee, who was reportedly promised RM50,000 to smuggle the drugs, was also found to be positive for ecstasy, cocaine, and marijuana. However, he was seated in the cockpit, rather than in the cabin crew responsible for operating the aircraft.
