72nd Pas Muktamar marks new chapter in national politics - Takiyuddin

KOTA BARU: The inclusion of several opposition party leaders at the 72nd Pas Muktamar signifies a significant moment in Malaysia's political landscape, highlighting Pas' commitment to fostering Muslim unity. Pas Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan commended the top leaders of other parties for accepting the invitation to attend the event.

Takiyuddin emphasized that this occasion represents a historic milestone in the country's political journey, showcasing the party's endeavors to promote Muslim unity. Drawing inspiration from the words of Buya Hamka, he stressed that reconciliation between two divided individuals embodies the pinnacle of faith's dignity, where love and responsibility surpass ego in seeking Allah's blessings.

Among the prominent figures present were Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, the president of Parti Wawasan Negara, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, the head of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air, and Datuk Dr Dominic Lau, the leader of Parti Gerakan. Takiyuddin acknowledged that over the course of its 75-year existence, Pas has encountered various challenges and tribulations, including its involvement in Malaysia's electoral process since the inaugural General Election in 1959.

Despite its substantial membership and organizational strength, spanning all levels and even encompassing associate members from diverse faith backgrounds, Takiyuddin urged all Pas leaders and members to reflect on these experiences. He highlighted that as organizations expand, their requirements and expenses naturally increase, mirroring the complexities of personal life as individuals advance in position and acquire greater benefits.

Consequently, Takiyuddin advocated for moderation, steadfastness, and collective effort in all aspects of their struggle.
