2027: Vote Tinubu and die of poverty – Amaechi warns Nigerians

Rotimi Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress vice-presidential candidate, has issued a dire warning to Nigerians regarding their choice of candidate in the 2027 election. In a meeting with stakeholders in Obigwe, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, in Rivers State, Amaechi claimed that voting for President Bola Tinubu could lead to the death of Nigerians due to poverty.

Amaechi asserted that the country has been suffering since Tinubu removed the fuel subsidy, and this suffering continues unabated. He stated, "If you like, vote for us, and if you don’t like, leave. You know why I said that? Tinubu removed the fuel subsidy, and since he removed the subsidy, have we rested? Are you not suffering? Are they not killing people here?"

Amaechi, who previously served as a governor, argued that his administration made significant investments in society, including providing free education and healthcare. He warned that if Tinubu returns to power and reinstates the fuel subsidy, the cost of living will decrease, alleviating poverty. However, Amaechi urged Nigerians to consider the alternative: voting for Atiku Abubakar, who promises to bring back fuel and electricity subsidies, thereby reducing poverty and lowering the cost of essential commodities.

Ultimately, Amaechi posed the question: "So you have a choice to either vote for Tinubu and die of poverty or vote Atiku and make money."
