Zelensky: India clearly supports bringing peace to Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to discuss ending Russia's war against Ukraine and the situation in the Black Sea. During the meeting, India expressed a clear position on the need for peace in the conflict. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for India's efforts to bring an end to Russia's unjust war against Ukraine.

He emphasized that the world needs peace, stating that this time should not be a time of war. Zelenskyy noted that Russia had recently launched jet-powered Shaheds, likely with help from Iran, but that Ukrainian fighter jets had shot down most of these drones, ensuring the safety of the delegation. The Ukrainian President emphasized the need for other powerful nations to take a clear position against the war and for a reliable peace to be established.

Additionally, they discussed the situation in the Black Sea, including the threats to civilian shipping. Zelenskyy stressed that it is unacceptable to block food supplies to regions dependent on maritime routes, and that Russian actions aimed at blocking Ukrainian ports and food supplies are causing major disruptions to global relations.
