Wrexham rout Millwall to seal first Championship win

Wrexham secured their maiden Championship win of the season with a resounding 3-0 victory over injury-ridden Millwall on Wednesday. The Welsh team, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, had previously drawn with Cardiff and Watford, as well as losing at home to Birmingham. However, they bounced back strongly in south London to kick-start their promotion bid to the Premier League following a disappointing finish to last season's play-offs.

Millwall's Zak Sturge scored the only own goal of the match, deflecting Issa Kabore's cross into his own net. Wrexham's Kieffer Moore added a second goal from 20 yards just after halftime, with Jacques Ekomie sealing the win with a close-range finish. Millwall conceded eight goals in just two games following a clean sheet in their victories over Bristol City and Norwich, while Wrexham now sits at eight goals conceded in their two matches.

Millwall lost striker Josh Coburn and midfielder Casper De Norre to injuries during the Wrexham game, and their fitness concerns mounted after Nigeria star Femi Azeez joined Brighton for £15 million just 24 hours prior. Charlton Athletic secured a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion to remain unbeaten after a 4-1 loss to Norwich last Saturday.
